We named the business after the old saying about fences, and we try to live up to it: build things that make home better, treat people fairly, and leave the block a little nicer than we found it.
What we do
Composite decks first, fences close behind
Most of our days are spent planning and building composite decks for homes around Seattle. We love that work because it answers a real local problem: a deck that stays good-looking through months of rain without eating your weekends.
Fences are the other half of what we do. Cedar, metal, gates, all of it. A fence touches your family, your pets and your neighbors, which is why we take the planning part seriously.

What we believe
Build for the Northwest, not the brochure
A deck that would last forever in a desert can struggle here. Our weather is gentle but relentless: drizzle for weeks, shade under big firs, soil that stays damp well into spring. So we plan for water first. That means boards and railings chosen for the climate, frames that can dry out, and posts that aren't sitting in puddles.
We also believe a fence is a shared thing, even when it's entirely on your side of the line. It's worth a conversation with the people next door, and it's worth building something both yards are glad to look at. That idea is the heart of our shared fence guide.
